Florence M King

Florence M. (Hart) King, 92, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at Heritage Hall Nursing & Rehab Center, Leesburg, VA where she had been a resident since 2001.

Funeral services will be held at the Brooks Funeral Home, Langdon, ND, on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at 1:00pm, with Pastor Tim Vorlage officiating.

Florence was born on December 20, 1914, on the home place in Minto Township, Wales, ND. She was the daughter of Charles & Runnog (Jennie) (Hyslien) Hart.

Florence and Royal King farmed in Harvey Center Township until they purchased the U.C.T. Hotel, Langdon, ND in October 1956. They owned and operated the hotel until its closing in 1983. In connection with the U.C.T. they operated the Greyhound Bus service until service was discontinued.

She was a member of the Langdon Methodist Church and also a member of the Eastern Star, having served as Worthy Matron.

Florence and Royal were married on November 9, 1932 in Fargo, ND. She is survived by one son, Murlan King, California; two daughters, Carole Lageman, Reston, VA and Colleen Gendreau, Ashburn, VA. A son Charles died in infancy. In addition, she is survived by 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Visitation will take place for one hour before the time of the services at the funeral home on Tuesday.
