Florence Arneson

Florence Arneson, age 90 of Walhalla, ND, died on Monday, April 21 at the Pembilier Nursing Center in Walhalla. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at the Walhalla Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Friday, April 25 at the Walhalla Lutheran Church. There will also be visitation for one hour prior to service time at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Walhalla.

Florence Mildred Arneson, the daughter of Dan and Bertha (Overaas) Danielson, was born on August 26, 1917 at Vang, North Dakota. It was in the Vang community where she grew up and received her education. She was baptized and confirmed in the Vang Lutheran Church, and remained an active, lifelong member of the Vang/Walhalla Lutheran Church parish.
Florence was united in marriage to Ernest Arneson on October 17, 1937 at Vang, and to this union were born five children. They farmed and lived and around Walhalla until Ernest's passing in 1996. At the time of her death, Florence had been making her home at the Pembilier Nursing Center for several years.
She will always be remembered as loving wife, mother, and grandmother who cared more for others than for herself. She will also be remembered for her good nature, and for her cooking and baking skills, especially her apple pie. Most importantly, she will be remembered for her deep and abiding faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, with whom she has now gone to live. May she rest in His peace.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Lowell (Lois) Arneson of Bellvue, WA, Dean (Linda) Arneson of Cedar Rapids, IA, Beverly (Jack) Kreager of Coon Rapids, MN, Ardis (Dean) Max of Crystal, MN, Geraldine (Cy) Spinler of Browns Valley, MN; one brother: Wallace Danielson of McIntosh, MN; six sisters: Irene Knutson and Grace Busse of Walhalla, ND, Lenora Peterson of Granite Falls, WA, Edna Swenson of Everett, WA, Lois Thompson of Seattle, WA, Carol Williams of Bellevue, WA; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ernest; and two brothers: Orin and Norris Danielson.
