Fern Spanier, 87, of Langdon, ND, passed away July 22nd, 2012 at the Maple Manor Care Center of Langdon, ND.
Fern Agar was born July 17, 1925, to Ernest and Delia Agar in Hay Township, Cavalier County. She was raised and educated there. Fern and Arthur Michael Spanier were united in marriage on November 20, 1947. They made their home and farmed in the Langdon area. They became the loving parents of five children. Fern enjoyed gardening, cooking, being part of the Langdon Eagles Club Auxiliary, and mostly her family. She volunteered her time and was always quick to help another in need. Art passed away July 29, 1995 and Fern continued to make her home in Langdon.
Fern is survived by her children: Judith ââ¬ÅJudyââ¬Å¥ Hamann of Juneau, AK, James ââ¬ÅJimââ¬Å¥ Spanier of Langdon, ND, and Roger (Darci) Spanier of Groton, SD; grandchildren: Patricia Hamann of Portland, OR, Michael (Laura) Hamann of Beaverton, OR, Jericka (Ryan) Congdon of Vancouver, WA, Jared Spanier of Grand Forks, ND, Jason (Kassie) Spanier of Langdon, ND, Jalissa Spanier of Fargo, ND, Raelyn (Cole) Buscho of Fargo, ND, Brandon Spanier of Aberdeen, SD, Brooklyn Spanier of Groton, SD; great-grandchildren: Benjamin Hamann, Isaac Hamann, Cole Spanier, and Maislynn Congdon; siblings: Betty (Ronald) Mikkelsen of Langdon, ND; Joyce Hanson of Rapid City, SD; and Warren (Sharon) Agar of Billings, MT; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Fern was preceded in death by her parents, husband Art, son Richard ââ¬ÅRickyââ¬Å¥ Spanier, daughter Lynda Spanier-Fry, and siblings Calvin Agar and Ernest, Jr. (Gay) Agar.
VISITATION will begin at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 with a 7:00 prayer service at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND.
SERVICES will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 10:00 am at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Langdon, ND.
INTERMENT Calvary Cemetery, Langdon, ND.
