Evelyn (Mickey) Waslaski, 73, of Crookston, MN and formerly of Edinburg, Olga and Grand Forks, ND passed away June 25, 2007 in Crookston after a short illness.
Evelyn Mary Jane McGauvran was born December 6, 1933 at Olga, ND to Earl and Lucienne (Dumas) McGauvran. She grew up in Olga and Langdon and attended school at St. Alphonsus Catholic School in Langdon, ND. Evelyn and Frank Edward Waslaski were united in marriage on June 14, 1950 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. They lived in various states as they followed his career and she was a stay-at-home mom to their family. In 1970 they moved to Billings, MT where they spent five years. They moved to Edinburg, ND in 1975. In 1989 they began spending winters in California and Arizona and their summers in Olga, ND. Frank passed away on August 8, 1998. Evelyn moved to Grand Forks in 2003 and her home served as the central gathering place for the family. Evelyn loved to read, play cards, sew, cook, and do crafts. She was happiest spending time with her beloved family, taking particular delight in her grandchildren. She retained her sense of humor to the moment she was dying. Her family surrounded her with love during her last hours.
She is survived by her children: Rick (Priscilla) Waslaski of Crookston, MN; Robert (Bonnie) Waslaski of Redwood, MN; Mary (Allan) Krueger of Green Bay, WI; Elizabeth (Kyle) Grove of Hawley, MN, Grandchildren: Chad, Chaney, Richard, Jr., Colby, Lindsey, Alicia, Travis, Mitchell, Wesley, Kaylee, Katya, Jessica, Justin, Honorary Grandson Charlie, Great-Grandchildren: Cheyenne, Sierra, Brandon, Alex, brothers and sisters: Earline (Durland) Siguaw; Mac (Marilyn) McGauvran; George McGauvran; Gerry (Lee) Himley; June Waslaski; Wilbur (JoAnne) McGauvran; Lois (Eddie) Monsrud; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank (Big Frank), son Frank Jr., (Little Frank), brother Leo McGauvran, infant sisters Mary Jane and Ruth Marie, and her ââ¬ï¿½adoptedââ¬â¢ sister Millie Mitchell.
VISITATION will take place beginning at 5pm with a 7pm prayer service at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND.
SERVICES Friday June 29, 2007 at 2:00pm at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Langdon, ND.
INTERMENT Calvary Cemetery, Langdon, ND.
In Lieu of flowers memorials would be preferred to Hospice.
