Evelyn I. Nelson

Evelyn I. Nelson, 78, of Walhalla, ND passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013, at her home. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 11, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the Walhalla Lutheran Church, Walhalla, ND. Burial will be held in the Numedahl Cemetery, rural Walhalla, ND.
Evelyn Irene Peterson was born January 5, 1935, near Milton, ND to Oscar and Dorothy (Styles) Peterson and grew up in the Beaulieu and Olga areas.
She married Marvin Swenson and he passed away on December 4, 1961, and then married Curtis Huffman and he passed away July 17, 1977. Evelyn spent most of her adult life in Walhalla where she raised her family. On May 18, 1993, she married Donald Nelson at Walhalla.
Things she enjoyed in her life were her dogs, music, camping, and playing cards with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Donald; children: Sandy Swenson, Fargo, ND, Shelly Swenson, Grafton, ND, Dale (Diane) Swenson, Snohomish, WA, Renita (Mark) Browne, St. Hilaire, MN, Flint (Lynnette) Huffman, Walhalla; 10 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; siblings: Raymond ( Mary) Peterson, Pembina, ND, Lois (Ed) Lennox, Kent, WA, Lloyd (Vione) Peterson, Cavalier, ND, Karen (Lloyd) Bourbanis and Clifford (Debbie) Peterson, all of Walhalla; and several nieces and nephews.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; grandson, David Browne, and sister, Mildred.
