Eula M. DeMell

Eula Marie DeMell, age 89, of Cavalier, ND and formerly of Searcy, AR, went to be with the Lord Sunday, January 10, 2010 at Wedgewood Manor in Cavalier.
Marie was born July 19, 1920, in Rose Bud, AR to G. William and Edna (Webb) Weeks. She grew up in Rosebud and attended Southwestern Bible College in Oklahoma City, OK. During WWII she worked in the shipyards in San Diego, CA and after the war moved to Chicago, IL. Marie was active in her church.
In 1947, she met and married James H. DeMell. After the birth of their son she went to work at Honeywell for the next 25 years. In 1978, they retired and moved to Searcy, AR and again became active in the First Assembly of God Church. Marie loved children and also enjoyed the nursery and gardening. They were married for 52 years until his death Oct. 23, 1999. Marie moved to ND to be closer to her son in 2003. The last couple of years her body limited he physical activities, but not her attitude, her love for the Lord and willingness to sing.
She is survived by her son, James D. (Jenny) DeMell, Cavalier, ND; grandchildren: Ruth (Jason) Ivesdal, Chaska, MN, Dale (Jayna) DeMell, Hutchinson, MN, Jon DeMell, Burnsville, MN; four great-grandchildren Liam, Eden, Asher & Caleb; siblings: Violet (Rudolph) Bray and Glen (Millie) Weeks, all of Rosebud, AR, Lavenia (Dale) Bedsaul, Greenwood, MO; and sister-in-law, Marie Weeks, Kansas City, MO.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and three brothers: Wendell, Buford, and Hoyd Weeks.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 14th at 10:00 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church, 101 S. Benton Ave., Searcy, AR. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial in the Martin Cemetery, Rose Bud, AR.
The family requests that any memorials be given to Convoy of Hope, 330 S. Patterson Ave, Springfield, MO 65890-1204 or the Cavalier Ambulance Service.
