Esther Oamek

Esther Vollrath Oamek age 92 of Neche, ND., died on Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at the Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, ND. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation for one hour before the time of services. Burial in the Neche Union Cemetery.
Esther H. Grabowski the eldest of six daughters, was born May 25, 1912, at Brunkild, Manitoba, Canada, to Julius and Augusta (Aminda) Grabowski.She was a long time resident of Neche, ND.
On Feb 20, 1936, she married Arthur L. Vollrath a Neche farmer in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Esther and Art spent most winters in California and their summers in Neche, ND. Art died on September 19, 1973. She then married Frank Oamek in August of 1976. They enjoyed winters in Clear Lake, California and their summers in Neche. Frank died on January 23, 2000.
She is survived by a son, Duane (Regina) Vollrath, Battle Ground, WA., grandchildren, Mark Marson and Jacquelin Williams both of Vancouver, WA., and Nicole Vollrath, Boston, MA., great grandchildren, Krystal and Kyle Williams, Vancouver, WA., sisters, Ella Picken, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Elsie Stienke, Brunkild, Maniota, and Ruth Marcsh, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Esther was also preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Eunice Marson, and sisters, Myrtle Pitura and Lillian Frase.
