Esther P. Dunn age 78 of Cavalier and formerly of Hamilton, ND died on Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at the Altru Hospital Grand Forks, ND. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 3, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at the Cavalier Presbyterian Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 2nd from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Burial in the Hamilton Cemetery.
Esther Pearl Morden was born January 4, 1928, at Cavalier, ND to Herbert and Pearl (Schluchter) Morden. She graduated from Cavalier High School. Shortly after graduating she was employed at the Pembina County Courthouse. Later in life she attended Area Vocational Technical Institute in East Grand Forks, MN.
On April 19, 1949, she was united in marriage to Robert H. Dunn in Cavalier, They lived and farmed near Hamilton until 2003, when they moved to Cavalier. Robert Dunn died on August 30, 2004.
Esther volunteered and worked for the Cavalier Public Library, Cavalier Presbyterian Church, and Cavalier Chamber of Commerce. She was a life long member of the Hamilton Presbyterian Church and served on the session and various other church related committees. She participated in various organizations including the Order of the Eastern Star, past president of the Cavalier Country Club Ladies Group, served as a 4-H leader, and a member of the Hamilton Homemakers.
Esther had many hobbies including golf, reading, e-mailing, playing cards, and most of all enjoyed socializing with her many friends.
She is survived by her children, Duane (Kathie) Dunn, Jamestown, ND; Curtis (Bonnie) Dunn, Littlefork, MN; Audrey (Randy) Knutson, Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren, Justin and Jason Dunn; Becky Jo and Kristy Ann Horne Dunn, and Jessica and Craig Knutson; sister, Erlene (Norman) Ray, Cavalier, ND; brother, George (Dorothy) Morden, Cavalier, ND; and several nieces and nephews; and grand nieces and nephews.
Esther was also preceded in death by her parents.
