Erna Saiger

Erna Saiger age 93 of Bathgate, ND., died on Monday, February 21, 2005, at the Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, ND. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 25, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. at the United Lutheran Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation on Thursday, February 24th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial in the Bathgate Cemetery, Bathgate, ND.
Erna Lindenberger was born September 8, 1911, at Waldorf, Minnesota, to Max and Bertha (Cook) Lindenberger. She moved with her family to Bathgate in 1914.
On September 9, 1931, she married Emil Saiger at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, rural St. Thomas, ND. After their marriage they lived at Pembina from 1932 to 1935. They then moved to the Bathgate area and in 1943 to their present farmstead. Emil Saiger died on November 19, 1944. In 1975, she retired from farming. Erna was a resident of the Borg Memorial Home, Mountain, ND., Pembilier Nursing Center, Walhalla, ND., and the Wedgewood Manor.
She is survived by her daughter, Deloris (Karl) Henschel, Bathgate, ND., grandchildren, Kelly (Deborah) Henschel, Neche, ND., Karla Henschel, Bathgate, ND., and Karmen (Jeff) Ruffatto, Columbus, MT., great granchildren, Kassondra and Megan Henschel, Joanna and Kari Ruffatto, sister-in-law, LaVerne Lindenberger, Grand Forks, ND.
Erna was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and three sisters.
