Erlene Ray, 97, of Cavalier, ND passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 at the Unity Medical Center, Grafton, ND. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cavalier Presbyterian Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 28th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND
Erlene Morden was born May 11, 1920, on the family farm near Cavalier, to Herbert and Pearl (Schluchter) Morden. She grew up in the Cavalier area and graduated from Cavalier High School. On November 1, 1941, she married Norman Ray at Cavalier. After their marriage they farmed in the Glasston area, until 1967 when they moved into Cavalier. She was a member of the Hamilton Presbyterian Church and its Ladies Aide. Erlene was very devoted to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed sending greeting cards and keeping in touch with family and friends.
She is survived by her children: Howard (Karen) Ray, Grafton, ND and Connie (Jim) Voeller, St. Louis MO; grandchildren: Philip (Rachel) Ray, Heidi (Travis) Sanger, Paul (Keeley) Ray, Nicole (Jerry) Brooks, Michelle Voeller, Mike (Melissa) Voeller; great-grandchildren: Annika, Emily, Kaeden; Rylan, Gabrielle, Grace, Keegan; Fallon and Arden; Eva, Annie, Scarlett; Mabel, Marilla, Mercer.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Norman on March 26, 2008; siblings: George Morden and Esther Dunn.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Lutheran Sunset Home and Unity Medical Center both of Grafton; Faith In Action, Cavalier; or charity of your choice.
