Emma Johnston

Emma Johnston, 89, of Grand Forks, ND passed away Thursday, September 13, 2007, at Woodside Village of Grand Forks, ND.

Emma Toews was born September 23, 1917 to Isaac and Mary (Wiens) Toews in Cavalier County. She grew up in Cavalier County and attended Bible School in Munich, ND. She was united in marriage to Alec Johnston and they made their home in Grand Forks, ND. She worked as a nurses aide in Langdon, Devils Lake and Grand Forks, ND.

She is survived by her sister-in-law Virginia Toews Champion of Billings, MT, 16 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers and sisters; Isaac, Stella Meyers, Lydia Ballweg, John, Anna Krahn, Elsie Goertzen, Jack, and Mary Spenst, one niece, Irene Goertzen and one nephew, Donald Toews.

Services will take place on Monday September 17, 2007 at 2:00pm at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND.

Visitation will take place for one hour before the time of the services at the funeral home on Monday.

Interment will take place at Lebanon Cemetery of Langdon, ND.
