Emil B. Sigurdson, age 77, of Cavalier, ND died on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital in Cavalier, ND. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. at Vidalin Lutheran Church, rural Hensel, ND. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5 - 7 pm with a prayer service at 7 pm at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home in Cavalier, ND. Military Rites by L

Emil Bjorn Sigurdson was born on July 12, 1931 on the family farm near Hensel, ND to Bjorn and Eva (Sott) Sigurdson. He attended grade school at Skaving school near Hensel, and Cavalier High School. He attended Wahpeton State School of Science studying in mechanics. He served in France in the United States Army Air Corp during the Korean conflict from 1952 - 1954. He married Jean Busse on March 4, 1962. Following their marriage, they farmed on the family farm. Jean died on March 3, 1996. Emil retired from farming and worked for the North Dakota Dept. of Transportation until his retirement.
Emil was a lifelong member of the Pembina County Sportsman Club where he held several officer positions and the American Legion in Cavalier, serving as the past Commander. His passions were fishing and hunting, and he loved to be out in the nature.
Survivors include one brother, William Sigurdson of Lady Lake, Florida and several nieces and nephews.
Prededed in death by his parents, and his wife, Jean.
