Emil Schluender, 101, of Langdon, ND passed away Saturday March 11, 2006 at the Maple Manor Care Center of Langdon, ND.
Emil Schluender was born November 14, 1904 at Bausenhegn, Germany. His parents were Kaspar and Emilie (Neuhaus) Schluender and his brothers and sisters were Leopold, Maria, Frank, Clara, Louise, Fred and Casper. Emil came to the United States in the early 1920ââ¬â¢s. He was first in Osakis, MN and then moved to the Langdon, ND area where he worked on a farm. Emil entered the United States Army on April 4, 1942 and served in the Pacific Theater. He was Honorably Discharged on February 26, 1944. He returned to the Langdon area and farmed. Emil was united in marriage to Margaret Muhs on April 27, 1944. Emil served on the South Dresden Township School Board and was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Dresden and later the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church Langdon. Margaret passed away January 3, 1975.
Emil is survived by his son Mark (Bonnie) Schluender of Gladstone, MO, grandchildren; Rebecca (Darren) Bauer, Rachel (Jeff) Richardson and Zachary Schluender, great grandchildren; Austin Richardson, and Jackson and Jadyn Bauer.
VISITATION Monday March 13, 2006 beginning at 3pm with a 7pm Prayer Service all at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND.
SERVICES Tuesday March 14, 2006 at 10:00am at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Langdon, ND
INTERMENT Calvary Cemetery, Langdon, ND.
