Elmer E. Goschke, 84, of Arthur, ND and formerly of Langdon, ND passed away on December 1, 2008 at the Arthur Good Samaritan Center in Arthur, ND.

Elmer was born on August 19, 1924 to Reinhold and Minnie (Lembke) Goschke at the family farm of rural Langdon, ND. He attended elementary school in Moscow Twp and at age seven was able to drive to school. Elmer graduated from Langdon High School. He was united in marriage to Arlene Domres on October 15, 1950 at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Dresden, ND. Following their marriage the couple resided near Dresden & Clyde where they continued to farm as well as raise cattle, chickens, and hogs. In 1989, they moved to Langdon, ND. In 2000 Elmer moved to Arthur to live with his daughter and her family. Elmer was always thoughtful of others and enjoyed a good joke. He was especially fond of pets and loved to take care of his dog Rally.

Elmer is survived by his children: Kent (Paula) Goschke of Edgewood, KY, Julie (Robert) Sagen of Arthur, ND, and Kristine (Roger) Jenssen of Floyds Knobs, IN; grandchildren: Nicole Sagen, Kelly Sagen, Elizabeth Goschke, and Michelle(Tim) Hanley who shall soon give birth to what will be Elmer’s first great-grandchild; brother: Melvin (Goschke) of Langdon, ND as well as several nieces and nephews.

Elmer was preceded by his parents, his wife Arlene, a grandchild Kyle Goschke (son of Kent and Paula Goschke), and his sister Deloris Law.

Visitation will begin at 2pm with a 7pm prayer service at the Brooks Funeral Home in Langdon, ND on December 5, 2008. Visitation will also take place for one hour prior to the funeral service.A Funeral Service will be held at the United Lutheran Church in Langdon, ND on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 2pm.

Interment will take place at the Lebanon Cemetery in Langdon, ND following the funeral service.
