Eleanora M. Kalis age 85 of Walhalla, ND died on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at the Pembilier Nursing Center, Walhalla, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, January 5, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Walhalla, ND. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 4th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service at the church. Burial in the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements with Nelson-Askew Funeral Home, Walhalla, ND.
Eleanora M. Schwartz was born April 30, 1921, at Mount Carmel, ND to Alvin and Marie (Dumas) Schwartz. She grew up in the Mount Carmel and Vang areas.
On May 12, 1938, she married Charles Kalis at Walhalla, ND. After their marriage they lived in the Walhalla area. Charles Kalis passed away on August 13, 1992.
She is survived by sons, Leo (Kathy) Kalis, Frank (Sharon) Kalis, Albert Kalis, George (Rose) Kalis, John (Sharon) Kalis, all of Walhalla, ND; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; brothers, Raymond (Betty) Schwartz, Grand Fork, ND and Gilbert (Lavonne) Schwartz, Minneapolis, MN; sisters, Loretta Ropel, Alsen, ND and Lucille Eyrikson, Walhalla, ND.
Eleanora was also preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Ricky Kalis; brothers, Alex and Richard Schwartz; and sister, Angeline Kalis.
Celebrant: Rev. Fr. Thomas Krupich.
Casket Bearers: Don Forschen, Bryan Kalis, Kelly Kalis, Wade Kalis, Seth Preble, and Matt Soli.
