Eleanor R. Martineau

Eleanor R. Martineau age 100 of Walhalla, ND died on Wednesday, January 21, 2009, at the Pembilier Nursing Center, Walhalla, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, January 26, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Walhalla, ND. A prayer service will be held on Sunday, January 25th at 3:30 p.m. at the Pembilier Nursing Center, Walhalla, ND. Visitation will also be held on Sunday from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Askew Funeral Home, Walhalla, ND. Burial in the St. Boniface Cemetery, Walhalla.
Eleanor R. Carignan was born September 4, 1908, near Leroy, ND to Gedion and Aurelia (Lamie) Carignan. She grew up and attended school in the Leroy area.
On October 29, 1928, she married Eugene L. Martineau at Leroy. After their marriage they lived in the Leroy area and later moved to Walhalla. Eugene died on June 19, 1982.
She is survived by her children, Raoul Martineau, Sunland, CA, Raymond (Agnes) Martineau, Lancaster, CA, Betty Jane (Stewart) Howatt, Langdon, ND, Francis Martineau, Lake Isabella, CA, Louie E. (Connie) Martineau, Acworth, GA, Marleene Siewart, Grafton, ND, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, sister, Alice Tisdal, Hibbing, MN.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, daughter, Luella Petrak, six brothers, and three sisters.
Clergy: Rev. Fr. Thomas Krupich.
Music: Connie Eagan, Soloist and Bernadine Kopf, Organist.
