Edwin R Waltz

Edwin R. Waltz, 81, of Langdon, ND passed away March 15, 2007 at the Cavalier County Memorial Hospital of Langdon, ND.

Edwin Robert Waltz was born October 1, 1925 to Joseph and Mary (Stremick) Waltz at their farm in rural Langdon. He attended Easby #2 and went on to graduate from St. Alphonsus Catholic School in the class of 1943. He entered the United States Army in 1951 and served in Italy. He was honorably discharged in 1953. He returned to Langdon and worked for area farmers before beginning work at the Cavalier County Rural Electric retiring in 1990. He was a member of the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion Post #98 where he served as chaplain for many years and was a member of the Eagles Aerie #3454.

Edwin is survived by his sisters; Mary (Leonard) Ekberg of Langdon and Lisa (Ken) Geisen of Maple Valley, WA, sisters-in-law; Lea Waltz of Langdon and Fern Waltz of Portland, OR, nieces and nephews: Sandy (Waltz) Reily, Portland, OR; Larry Waltz, Portland, OR; Vickie (Waltz) Sims, Moorhead, MN; Wayne Waltz, Langdon, ND; Susan (Waltz) Jacobson, Finley, ND; Carol (Ekberg) Murie, Grand Forks, ND; Darrell Ekberg, Manvel, ND; Colleen (Ekberg) Hagen, New Rockford, ND; Dean Ekberg, Langdon, ND; David Geisen, Seattle, WA; Michael Geisen, Redmond, OR, several great nieces and nephews and a great-great niece and nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, James and Victor and an infant brother Raymond.

VISITATION will begin at 2:00pm Sunday March 18, 2007 with a 7:30pm Prayer Service all at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND.

SERVICES Monday March 19, 2007 at 2:00pm at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Langdon, ND.
