Edwin Schefter

Edwin Schefter, 91, of Fargo, and formerly of Mt. Carmel and Langdon, ND passed away Friday, June 8, 2012, in Fargo, ND.

Edwin was born on the farm near Mt. Carmel, ND September 26, 1920 to William and Katherine (Kartes) Schefter. He attended school in a one room school house near the family farm. Ed and Edna (Beauchamp) were united in marriage October 26, 1942. They farmed and made their home in Mt. Carmel Township, where they lived for 60 years before moving into Langdon in 2002. Ed and Edna enjoyed their travels together in their motorhome. They made many fishing trips to Canada and traveled annually to Arizona during the winter months. Ed was proud of his family and looked forward to their gatherings and holding the newest baby.

Ed is survived by his children: John (Charlotte) of Great Falls, VA, Kathy Lewis (John Biewer) of Fargo, Jean Keller (Gary) of Fargo, Tim (Terry) of Loveland, CO, Susan Heller (Mark) of Mesa, AZ, Steve (Michelle) of Langdon, ND, Mark (Delrae) of Fargo, ND, Bob (Kristi) of Fergus Falls, MN and daughter-in-law, Jeannette of Langdon, ND; 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Robert, of Pasadena, CA; sister, Dorothy Muhs, of Langdon, ND; sister-in-law, Audrey Schefter, of Grand Forks, ND and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Edna, son William, grandson Clint, and his siblings: Leonard, Walter, Hugh, Winnifred, Alice, Florence and Charlotte.

Prayer Service: Sunday Evening at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon at 7pm

Visitation: 3 to 5pm Sunday at the Brooks Funeral home in Langdon.

Services: Monday, June 11, 2012 at 10am at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Langdon, ND
