Edward Wilhelmi, 85, of Langdon, ND passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at the Maple Manor Care Center of Langdon.

Edward L. Wilhelmi was born July 12, 1925 at the family farm near Loma, ND. He attended school at North Loma Township. He farmed with his father for several years and took over the operation of the farm after his father’s death. He served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955 in Korea. After his honorable discharge he returned to the family farm and continued to farm until his retirement. He was very fond of his farm animals and pets. He enjoyed spending time with his nieces, nephews, family and friends. After a short illness, Ed entered Maple Manor Care Center in January of 2006 and was most appreciative of their care. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.

Edward is survived by seven siblings, Jeanne (John) Hoiland of Denver, CO, Charlotte (Leo) Haggerty of Lakewood, CA, Betty (Bob) Bata of Langdon, Louis, Jr. (JoLeen) of Anoka, MN, Arlene (John) Leisen of St. Cloud, MN, Sharon (Vern) Wick of Grand Forks, ND, and Gerald (Marcia) Wilhelmi of Badger, MN. He is also survived by three Wilhelmi sisters-in-law, Sue (Alvin) Wilhelmi of San Jose, CA, Janet (Wally) Wilhelmi of Placentia, CA, Kenny’s second wife, June of Mesa, AZ, and a brother-in-law Jack (Ione) Banasik.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers Daniel, Kenneth, Wallace, and Alvin; four sisters Ione Banasik, Kathleen Wilhelmi, Colleen Loff, Lucille Waltz, and twins Joseph and Mary; and in-laws Edward Waltz, Robert Loff, and Lanetta (Brooks) Wilhelmi (Kenny’s first wife).

VISITATION will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon. There will also be visitation for one hour before services at the church on Monday.

FUNERAL SERVICES will be on Monday, December 6, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Langdon.
