Edna Schefter, 87, of Mt. Carmel and Langdon, ND passed away December 5, 2008 at MeritCare in Fargo, ND.
Edna was born September 23, 1921 to Adelard and Alberta (Marcelin) Beauchamp. She grew up in the Olga and Langdon area and graduated St. Alphonsus High School. Edna and Edwin Schefter were united in marriage at St. Alphonsus church on October 26, 1942. They farmed and made their home in Mt. Carmel Township where they lived for sixty years before moving into Langdon in 2002.
Edna liked to fish and she and Ed would make many fishing trips into Canada over the years. Edna also enjoyed the 20+ winters that she and Ed spent in Arizona. Many hours were enjoyably spent playing canasta with her children and grandchildren.
Edna is survived by Ed, her husband of 66 years, and eight of her nine children: John (Charlotte), Great Falls, VA.; Kathy Lewis(John Biewer), Fargo; Jean Keller (Gary), Fargo; Tim (Terry), Loveland, CO.; Susan Heller (Mark), Mesa, AZ.; Steve (Janelle), Langdon; Mark (Delrae); Fargo and Bob (Kristi) of Fergus Falls; her daughter-in-law, Jeannette, Langdon; 19 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; son Bill, grandson Clint; brothers; Armand (Mike), Gene, Eli, Gaston, and sisters; Alma, Lucille, and Lorraine.
VISITATION will begin at 5pm on Sunday December 7 with a 7pm Prayer Service all at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon. Visitation will also be held for one hour before the time of the services at the church on Monday.
SERVICES will be held on Monday December 8, 2008 at 1:00pm at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Langdon, ND.
INTERMENT will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Langdon, ND.
