Edna Ridley, 86, of Langdon, ND and formerly of Calvin, ND, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at the Maple Manor Care Center of Langdon.
Edna Margaret Seeley Ridley was born on March 28th, 1924 to John and Vera Seeley. She was the third of four children. Edna graduated from Langdon High School in 1942 and went on to attend Valley City State Teachers College. She received her teaching certificate and taught for several years including the Harvey Township School.
On December 5, 1946 Edna married Kenneth E. Ridley, and they had three children: Diane (Randy) Striegel of Lyman, WY, Sandi Nielsen of Racine, WI and John Ridley of Devils Lake, ND.
Edna enjoyed reading, sewing and was active in various organizations such as the Eastern Star, Ladies Aid at the Presbyterian Church in Calvin, homemakers clubs and senior organizations. Edna was also an Avon salesperson and enjoyed selling products in the Calvin community.
Edna was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, her parents John and Vera Seeley , brother Aldrich (Bud) Seeley, grandson Josh Striegel and son-in-law Bruce Nielsen.
She is survived by her children, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, brothers Ralph Seeley of Langdon and Robert Seeley of Denver, CO, friend Frances Seeley of Pryor, OK and numerous other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held for Edna at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 30 at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon.
