Edna Brown age 81 of Bathgate, ND passed away Sunday, February 07, 2010, at Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, ND. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Bathgate Presbyterian Church, Bathgate, ND. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 9th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial in the Bathgate Cemetery.
Edna Seblen was born February 7, 1929, in Grand Forks, ND to Edward and Ethel (Best) Seblen, of Bathgate. She graduated from Bathgate Public School in 1947, and then attended Interstate Business College in Fargo for one year and Moorhead State Teacher's College for two years to earn a degree in teaching. She then taught grade school for three years in Cavalier.
Edna married Ross Brown on September 25, 1953, and they moved into their new home on Shady Bend Farm near Bathgate. She was a member of the Bathgate Presbyterian Church and PW organization. She truly enjoyed gardening and provided many beautiful bouquets of fresh cut flowers for Sunday church services. Edna also loved to crochet, bowl, play games, cook and travel together with Ross. Her grandchildren brought her great joy, especially watching their sporting activities.
Edna is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ross; three sons, Rick (Clarinda) Brown, Kelly (Toni) Brown and Kevin (Beth) Brown, all of Bathgate, ND; and one daughter, Kay (Dale) Hartz of Maple Valley, WA. They have ten grandchildren, Melissa (Ken) Terry, Michael (Kelly) Brown, Travis, Reece, Levi, Garret, Taylor and Ethan Brown, Eric and Rachael Hartz and one sister, Virginia Baker of Maplewood, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Clergy: Rev. John Werth.
Casket Bearers: Michael Brown, Travis Brown, Eric Hartz, Garret Brown, Reece Brown, Levi Brown, and Ethan Brown.
Music: Dave McCurdy, Charlie Morrison, Kirk Morrison, and Tim Schroeder, Quartet, and Jan Morrison, Organist.
