Edith Moos

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2009, for Edith Moos, 87, of Langdon, ND. She died Monday April 6, 2009 at Maple Manor Care Center where she had been a resident since 2003. Services will be held at 11:00 am at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, in Langdon with Father McDermott officiating on Saturday April 11, 2009.

Visitation will be begin at 5:oopm with a 7:00pm Prayer Service all at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon on Friday April 10, 2009.

Edith Iona Coyle Moos was born October 5, 1921 to George and Ella Overby Coyle at Maida, ND. Edith married John Moos in Langdon on February 22, 1944. They farmed for three years and then moved into Langdon were they resided for the rest of their lives. Edith stayed at home to raise their son Kenneth. She loved to raise a garden of produce to can for the family. After John died in 1967, Edith worked different jobs at the Cavalier County Hospital, Nodak Hotel, Embers and the Crossroads. While at the Crossroads Restaurant, her boss, George Phillips, nominated her for an award. The Langdon Chamber of Commerce named her the employee of the year for1991. She was a member of the St. Alphonsus Altar Society and the Eagles Auxiliary.

Edith is survived by her son Kenneth (Beverly) of Plymouth MN and grandsons Bradley (Cheri), of Tampa FL and Jeffrey (Josephine), from Brooklyn Park MN. Brothers who survive her are Oscar (Myrna) of St Albert, Alberta; Curtis of British Columbia; and Charles, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Surviving sisters are Ruby Dyck of Steinbach, Manitoba and Trudy Waters (Warren Schettler) residing in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Two sisters-in-law in Langdon who also survive her are Rose Moos and Eva Moos and special friend Lester Schanz.

Edith was predeceased by her husband, parents, stepmother Katherine Coyle, brothers Kenneth, Lloyd, and Vernon, and sister Helene Ringland.
