Edith Menke

Edith Menke, 88, of Cavalier and formerly of Neche, ND, died Tuesday, November 2, 2010, at Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, ND. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 5, 2010 at 10:30a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, Neche, ND. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 4, from 6 to 7p.m. with a prayer service at 7 at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier.
Edith Irene Kuehner was born October 8, 1922, in Backoo, ND to Charles and Maude (Clark) Kuehner. She grew up in Backoo area and graduated from Cavalier High School.
On November 30, 1945, she married Albert Menke, after their marriage they lived and farmed in the Neche area. In 2007 they moved to Cavalier. She was active in the Christ Lutheran Church where she was a member of the choir, ladies aide, and taught Sunday school. Other things she enjoyed were being a member of a birthday club in Neche and the Red Hatters. She also enjoyed crocheting, needlework, and reading. Spending time with her family and grandchildren was very special to her.
Survivors include daughters Diann (Larry) Guenther, Bozeman, MT; Judy (Larry) Grube, Pembina, ND; Conni (David) Nordenstrom, Forest Lake, MN; grandchildren: Marni (Jeff) McGuire, Dawn (Brian) Berger all of Bozeman, MT; Lane Guenther, Epharata, WA; Jeni (Shane) Carrier, Neche, ND; Rachel Nordenstrom, Forrest Lake, MN; 11 great-grandchildren; Sister, Estella Herzog, Minneapolis, MN.
Preceding her in death were her parents, three brothers, five sisters, and her husband Albert on August 2, 2009.
