Earl D. Wyman was born on August 29, 1922 to Ormie and Sadie Wyman in Underwood Township, MN. The family later lived on a farm in the Humboldt, MN area before settling on a farm just west of Pembina, ND. Earl graduated from Pembina High School in 1940 and attended the University of North Dakota before joining the US Navy in 1942. He was trained as a dive bomber pilot. After WWII, Earl moved to Minneapolis and drove bus for Greyhound Bus Company. He married the love of his life, Alyce Stamnes, on March 1,1950 and then was called back to active duty in July 1951. The young couple and son moved to Guantanamo Naval Base in Cuba where Earl served as a pilot instructor during the Korean War until his honorable discharge in 1954. He came back to the family farm in Pembina, ND and farmed from 1955 to 1982. Earl also was a test and delivery driver for the Pembina Bus Plant for many years.
The years of raising their children in Pembina and farming the rich soil of the Red River valley were fond memories for Earl. His retirement years were also years of great enjoyment as he and Alyce did a lot of traveling in their RV and later lived in Winterhaven, Florida until they returned to Pembina in 1999. Earl's last move was to the Pemblier Nursing Center in 2013.
