Earl Robinson, age 84 of Cavalier and formerly of Hensel, ND died on Friday, October 26, 2007 at Wedgewood Manor in Cavalier.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home in Cavalier. Visitation on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Cavalier City Cemetery
Thomas Earl Robinson, the son of Joe and Ada (Bigwood) Robinson, was born on September 5, 1923 at Glasston, ND. The family moved to Hensel, ND when Earl was quite young, and he attended the Scheving country school near his childhood home. When he finished school, Earl worked at home for a time and then went to Seattle, WA and worked for the Boeing Corporation. In 1943 he enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country aboard an LST transport ship until receiving his honorable discharge in 1945. Upon returning home he farmed with his father and raised cattle.
Earl was united in marriage to Evelyn Baier on April 2, 1954. Evelyn passed away on July 9, 1972. In addition to his farming, Earl also worked for the United States Postal Service as a rural carrier for the Cavalier and Hensel areas for twenty years until his retirement. He did continue to raise cattle after he retired. Earl married Sally Russell and moved to Hoople to live. She preceded him in death. He later moved to Mountain before moving to Cavalier in 2005.
Earl's memberships included Lavern J. Thompson Post #11 of the American Legion at Cavalier and the Pioneer Machinery Association in Park River, ND.
He is survived by one son, Randy (Trudy) Robinson of Hensel, ND; grandchildren: Christy (Jason) Jelinek of Fargo, ND and Michelle (Shane) Sagert of Harvey, ND; great-grandchildren: Tyson, Ashlyn, Alex, Jadyn, and McKenzie; three brothers: Albert Robivson and Ray (Florence) Robinson all of Cavalier, ND and George (Donna) Robinson of Lakota, ND; sister-in-law: Clarine Robinson of Hensel, ND; his family by marriage: Sue Ann Gravelin, and Bob, Mark, Tim, and Kevin Russell; other relatives and friends.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents; brother Howard; sister: Mary Logsdon.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the Cavalier Ambulance Service and Wedgewood Manor.
