Earl Howard Restemayer was born December 11, 1929, at Cavalier to Milton Henry and Lydia (Staldt) Restemayer. He attended school at Cavalier, graduating in 1948. He then joined the National Guard and received his training at Fort Lewis. From 1950 to 1952, he served in Korea working with mines and booby traps. In May of 1952, he was discharged as a Master Sergeant. Earl took advantage of his GI schooling, going to Walhalla where he learned his skill in treating animals. Earl was a third generation farmer, raising cattle and then hogs. As a Ralston Purina dealer he sold feed for all animals. He was always ready to help anyone who was having problems with the treatment of their animals.
After his retirement from farming he loved to work in his garden, walking in the outdoors and driving his pickup around in the summertime. A favorite pastime was walking in the city hall during the winter and visiting with all the other walkers.
He was a member of the Cavalier American Legion, and a baptized and confirmed member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where he held many positions throughout the years.
On September 12, 1953, he married Helen Haugstad at Hallock, MN.
