Earl Mountain

Wilbert Earl Mountain, 79, of Cavalier, ND died on Saturday, September 25, 2010, at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital, Cavalier, ND. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at the Cavalier Presbyterian Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation on Monday, September 27th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services.
Wilbert Earl Mountain was born April 8, 1931, near Cavalier to Wilbert R. and Annie (Horsley) Mountain. He grew up on the family farm in the Tyner area north of Cavalier. In 1950, he graduated from Cavalier High School and then served in the U.S. Air Force. After his discharge from the service he returned home and farmed until 1980. Earl was then employed at Motor Coach Industries in Pembina, ND, where he found great joy in working with and meeting people in the bus industry. In 2005, he retired from MCI.
He was a member of the Cavalier Presbyterian Church and the Lavern J. Thompson Post #11, Cavalier American Legion.
On October 25, 1953, he married Jean Duncan at Neche, ND. She survives as do his children; Kaye (Ervin) Sott, Cavalier, Sue (Greg) Fritz, Pembina, and Scott Mountain, Cavalier; grandsons, Shawn Sott and Ryan (Nicole) Sott; great grandsons, Trevor and Brodie Sott; and sister, Jean Cameron, Crystal, ND.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
