Earl Wayne Flom

Earl Wayne Flom, 87, of Fargo and formerly of Fairdale, ND, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2019, surrounded by the ones he laughed with, lived for and loved.

Wayne was born August 20, 1931, in Osnabrock Township. He attended Osnabrock Township School and graduated from Nekoma High School. Wayne also attended the University of Minnesota and then took over the farm his grandfather homesteaded, and his father farmed. Wayne served on many community boards and committees. After over 50 years of farming Wayne retired and “moved south” to Fargo. Wayne was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.

He was survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Idell (Myers) Flom; his children: Terrie Montgomery of Minneapolis, MN, Marion Flom of Ormond Beach, FL, Wayne Allen Flom of Davenport, ND, Annette Flom of Apple Valley, MN, and Edward (Jill) Flom of Davenport, ND; brothers Gerald (Kay) Flom of Grand Forks and Neil (Susan) Flom of Detroit Lakes, MN; sister Joyce (Roderick) Stave of Parker, CO; and the lights of his life- his 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents Nels and Violet Flom; mother and father-in-law Phoebe and Kermit Myers, three nephews and four brothers-in-law.

Visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2019, at Brooks Funeral Home in Langdon, ND, and for one hour prior to service time at the church on Saturday. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at United Lutheran Church in Langdon. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, rural Nekoma, ND.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Alzheimer’s Association.

Visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2019, at Brooks Funeral Home in Langdon, ND, and for one hour prior to service time at the church on Saturday. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, rural Nekoma, ND.
