Duane Morrison

Duane Morrison, 93, of Neche, ND passed away Monday, June 15, 2015, at the Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 19, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at the Bathgate Presbyterian Church, Bathgate, ND. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 18th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Bruce Cemetery or organization of donors choice.
Duane was born March 21, 1922, on the family farm near Neche, ND to Clarence and Pearl (Dyer) Morrison. He attended the first eight grades in a one room country school, graduated from Bathgate High School in 1940 and then started farming.
On June 23 1954, he married Ruth H. Peterson at Cavalier, ND. and they continued to live on the home farm. Duane farmed until his retirement in 2000. Ruth passed away on February 21, 2012.
He was active in the Bathgate Presbyterian Church and Sunday School, 4-H, American Crystal Sugar Beet Growers Association, North Valley Water Board, North Cavalier Township officer, and the Bruce Cemetery Association.
Survivors include his children: Marlene (Jerry) Nolte and Debra (Troy) Green, all of Grand Forks, ND, Curtis (Karen) Morrison, Neche, Mark (Deborah) Morrison, Cavalier, Karen (Mark) Veldhuis, Maple Grove, MN; grandchildren: Alan (Jodi) Nolte, Michelle (Cory) Fairchild, John (Aarin) Nolte; Jordan (Rebecca) Green, Daniel Green (fiancé, Samantha VanReese); Carey Morrison (Jared Pennoyer) Lynae and Dana Morrison; Sarah (Tom) Kuesel, Anthony (Leah) Morrison, Nicholas (Tori) Morrison, Jaden Morrison (fiancé, Logan Magnus); Alex and Stephanie Veldhuis; great-grandchildren: Issac and Samuel Nolte; Culley, Evy, Aly, Izy, and Renz Fairchild; David Nolte; Sabin and Flint Pennoyer; Elena Mrozek, Gretta and Brendan Kuesel, and Ruby Morrison; sister, May Gunderson, Mountain, ND.
Also preceding him in death were his parents; infant brother, Donald; and brothers: Russell, Dale, Alwin, and Bob.
