Doyle E. Tongen

Doyle E. Tongen, age 80, of Walhalla, ND died on Monday, November 20, 2006, at the Pembilier Nursing Center, Walhalla, ND. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at the Walhalla Lutheran Church, Walhalla, ND. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 24th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Askew Funeral Home, Walhalla, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial in the Hillside Cemetery, Walhalla, ND.
Doyle E. Tongen was born November 17, 1926, at Walhalla, ND to Ole and Ivy (Sherman) Tongen.
On November 23, 1945, he married June Anderson. They farmed most of their life nine miles northeast of Walhalla.
He is survived by his wife, June; children, Don (Joan) Tongen, Walhalla, ND; Steve (Jani) Tongen, Mayville, ND; and Patsy (Stan) Chaput, Fargo, ND; 11 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; brother, Clair (Joyce) Tongen, Cavalier, ND; and sisters, Phyllis (Dwight) Holmes of Florida and Lois Lee, of California.
Doyle was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Lyle, Sherwood, and Vinton.
