Dorothy Ewert, 92, of Langdon, ND, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2019, at Cavalier County Memorial Hospital in Langdon.
Dorothy Ann Klein was born April 29, 1927, in Gordon Township, Cavalier County, to George and Anna (Fadenrecht) Klein. She attended Gordon School # 2 and graduated from Alsen High School. She continued her education at Mayville Teacher’s College and taught for several years in Gordon Township. She married Arthur Ewert in June of 1948. They farmed and raised their family in Moscow Township.
Dorothy enjoyed crotching, bird watching, gardening, watching her flowers and plants grow, doing crossword puzzles, and sewing by making clothing and doing alterations. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her great love of playing the piano was spread to many at the Emmanuel Evangelical Church, where she was a member after moving into Langdon. She was also a member of Rosehill Mennonite Church when she lived on the farm.
Surviving Dorothy are her children: Carmen (Margaret) Ewert of Langdon and LaRae Ewert of Fargo, ND; daughter-in-law Blanche Ewert of Langdon; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother Clinton Klein of Langdon; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur, son Glenn, siblings Arvelda (Elmer) Wiens and Clayton (Donalda) Klein, and sister-in-law Joyce Klein.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2019, at Emmanuel Evangelical Church in Langdon, ND, with visitation starting at 12:00 p.m. at the church.
