Dorothy "Honey" Eppler

Honey was born March 18, 1926 to Leon and Sarah (Holwell) Dubourt in Leroy, ND. She grew up in the Leroy and Walhalla area where she attended school.
She married Robert Lucier July 2, 1948, they had four children; Michelle, Jeffrey, Kim, and Sara. After living in California for 25 years, they moved back to Walhalla in 1974, where Robert tragically died in a car accident in November, 1974. She later married Leo Eppler in October of 1976.
Honey was a sweet, kind hearted person devoted to her family, a true friend and giving member of her community. She was a wonderful cook, a great decorator, and an accomplished artist. Honey was a member of the "Brush Bunch" for 30 years, as well as the Bartlette-Resler American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed working as a school cook and volunteering as a voting booth attendant for many years.
Our memories are our link to the past and every life has a story. Honey told her kids many stories about when she grew up on the farm, going to school and how much fun her and her siblings had, and of course their "chores". How we will have our "story" to tell about our mother. We especially remember our camping trips with our mom and dad. A lot of our trips were to national parks on the way to our grand parents' farm in Walhalla. We felt they were the greatest times ever.
Out mom was a very patient, compassionate, strong, and loving mom. She kept our family together no matter what came our way - always willing to help us. She worried for us! How she doesn't have the job of "worrying" anymore.
She is at peace and she will see that we will be alright - that was a big worry for her even at the end. So, Mom, here's letting you know we have your strength and we will make it through this time. We will remember and we will follow you. We love you - your kids.
She is survived by her children, Michelle Lucier, Portland, OR, Jeffrey Lucier, Las Vegas, NV, Kim (Debbie) Lucier, Trego, MT, Sara Carrier, Kalispell, MT; grandchildren, Robert, Jennifer (Williamson), and Jake Lucier, Courtney and Justin Carrier; great grandchildren, Mikaya Lucier, Tanner, Madden, Tage, and Huntlie Carrier; stepchildren, Clifford (Lora) Eppler, Walhalla, ND, Susan Aker and Heidi Eppler, both of Grand Forks, ND; Step grandchildren, Amber, Brandon, and Amanda (Jenke) Eppler, Sean Aker, Annie Eppler; Step great-grandchildren, Shayanne Berry, Tennyson and Kashlyn Jenke, Cassidy and Caden Aker, Savannah Soli, and Logan and Lukas DeCock. Brother, Leon Geraldine Dubourt, Walhalla, ND.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; her first husband , Robert Lucier; second husband, Leo Eppler; sister, Helen Dame; Stepchildren, Pam Eppler, Patti Gibney; grandsons, Aaron Carrier and Scott Aker.
Dorothy "Honey" Dubourt, Lucier, Eppler, 85, of Walhalla, ND, died October 14, 2011, at home with her children by her side in Kalispell MT.

Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2011 at the Walhalla Lutheran Church.
Visitation and prayer service will be held Friday, October 21, 2011 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
