Doris Marcelin age 83 of Cavalier, ND died on Wednesday, September 6, 2006, at the Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, September 11, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Brigid of Ireland Catholic Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 10th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the church. Burial in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Olga, ND. Arrangements with Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND.
Doris E. Beauchamp was born May 17, 1923, at Olga, ND to Aristide and Cordelia (Gendreau) Beauchamp. She grew up and attended school in the Olga area.
On November 16, 1942, she married Oscar H. Marcelin at Olga, ND. In 1955, they purchased Hank's Corner where they lived and operated the business until 1972. They then moved to Cavalier, ND where Oscar worked for the soil conservation service. Oscar passed away on October 7, 1997.
Her love of her children and grandchildren was very evident and she also enjoyed gardening and quilting.
She is survived by her children, Richard Marcelin, Margate, FL; Henry (Joan) Marcelin, Bozeman, MT; Lillian (Jim) Livingood, Cavalier, ND; Faye (Dean) Hoff, Belgrade, MT; Sandra Daversa, Backus, MN; Mark (Paula) Marcelin, Boise, ID; Wayne (Anna) Marcelin, Drayton, ND; 20 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sister, Lorraine (Orlo) Mostad, Cavalier, ND; brothers, Hector (Charlotte) Beauchamp, Grand Forks, ND; Rolland (Lorraine) Beauchamp, Walhalla, ND; Eugene (Ruth) Beauchamp, Simpsonville, SC; Harvey (Marjorie) Beauchamp, Osnabrock, ND; and Remi (Betty) Beauchamp, Minto, ND.
Doris was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Omer and Richard; and sisters, Jeanette Lepire and Marcella Belanus.
Celebrant: Rev. Fr. William McDermott
Casket Bearers: Lee Daversa, Dustin Hoff, Jamie Livingood, Britt Marcelin, Cody Marcelin, Joshua Marcelin, and Todd Marcelin.
