Doreen J. Johnson

Doreen J. Johnson, 82, of Walhalla, ND passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Society in Park River, ND. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 28, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at the Peter's Lutheran Church, Svold, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial will be held in the Peter's Cemetery.
Doreen J. Bjornson was born April 26, 1932, to B.G. "Barney" and Asta (Bradburn) Bjornson in the Svold area, where she grew up. On June 10, 1951, she married William Johnson at Svold. After their marriage they farmed and raised cattle. William passed away on October 31, 1985.
She was an avid gardener, baker, and was active in a local bible study group. Doreen was active in the Tops Club #43 in Walhalla and was a runner up in the state title in Tops International.
Survivors include her children: Neil Johnson, Shelby, NC, Noreen (Tim) Carpenter and Nolan Johnson, all of Walhalla, Jeanette (Randy) Bjornstad, Park River, ND, Janelle Johnson, Fargo, ND; grandchildren: Wayne and Andrew Johnson; Carla Howatt, Tiffany Vasicek, Billye Nelson; Travis, Thomas, and Jeanie Johnson; Barney and Allan Vistad, and Anthony Haase; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Pearl Ault.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; grandson, Jed Carpenter; great-granddaughter, Angela Carpenter; brothers: Barney, Thomas, and William Bjornson; sisters: Stina Simundson, Margaret Zimmerman, Lillian Sarrizan, Janet Austfjord, Elsie Kristjanson.

Adrian Olson; Music: Sharon Carpenter, Soloist and Pianist; Scoty Ullyott, Soloist; Casket Bearers: Daniel Carpenter, Thomas Johnson, Scoty Ullyott, Tiffany Vasicek, Alan Vistad, Barney Vistad; Honorary Pallbearers: Walhalla Tops Club #43 and her special friends: Mary Scott and Mary Wieler.
