Dora Johnson

Dora Marie Denault Johnson, 76, of Langdon, ND passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the Cavalier County Memorial Hospital in Langdon, ND.

Dora was born to Clarence and Florence Denault on March 21, 1937 and raised on the Denault family farm 7 miles south of Osnabrock. Dora had 8 sisters and 5 brothers and was the 5th child born out of 14 children. She attended grade school at the country school Oxford #3 and then went on to high school in Osnabrock. After high school in 1957 she moved to Fort Campbell, Kentucky to care for her sister Ellen. That is where she met and married Edgar Johnson. Dora and Edgar had 4 children- Lois, Edgar III, Thomas and Philip. They lived in Rhode Island for 13 years and then moved to Minnesota. In 1990 Dora moved to Langdon, ND to take care of her mother, Florence, and that is where she met Bruce Westby who was her companion for 20 years.

Dora loved to cook, garden and spend hours working in her flower gardens. She loved wildlife and enjoyed watching them in their habitat especially birds; she had a feeder right outside her window where she could sit and watch them year round. She hosted many dinners at her home for her family & friends and was loved by all.

She is survived by her daughter Lois of Champlin, MN, brother Wesley of Walhalla, sisters: Ellen of Huntsville, TX, Odelle and Theresa of Langdon, Rose Milton, Nora Mohall and Ava of Drayton, ND along with her many nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dora was proceeded in death by her father Clarence, mother Florence, brothers: John, Claire, Joe and Adrian, sisters: Olivene and Geraldine, former husband Edgar, and sons: Edgar, Thomas and Philip.

Services will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Langdon, ND.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 from 5-9:00 p.m. at Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon and for one hour prior to service time at the church on Thursday.

Interment in the Spring: Union Cemetery - Osnabrock, ND
