Donna Bennett

Donna Faye Agnes Gooselaw (Gunnarson/Bennett),82, of Fridley, MN, passed away at her home on Monday, June 19, 2017. A private family graveside service will be held at the Riverview Cemetery, Lake Bronson, MN.
Donna was born in Pembina, North Dakota, on October 21, 1934, to Lewis and Mabel Gooselaw. She attended Pembina public school until she graduated. Donna married Van Gunnarson on October 28, 1956, and their union was blessed with two sons. Donna spent most of her time caring for her family, but did some odd and end jobs throughout the years. She raised her family on a farm west of Lake Bronson, Minnesota, where her heart remained until her death.
After Van's passing Donna moved to Colorado Springs to be with Donovan and his family. She married Vernon Bennett on January 29, 1987. They made their homes in Colorado Springs, CO, Pembina, ND, and Lancaster, MN.
After Vernon's passing, Donna moved to senior housing in Hallock, MN. Donna went to live in Fridley, MN, with Donovan and family in May of 2016, where she had extra care that was needed.
She enjoyed life by spending time with family and friends and traveling. She loved doing embroidery work, quilting, and other crafts. As stated in her journal regarding her grandchildren, "they are my everything". She loved them so.
Donna was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lake Bronson, where she taught Sunday school in her younger years and participated in other church functions throughout her life.
Donna is survived by her two sons: Donovan (Linda) Gunnarson of Fridley, MN and Kurt Gunnarson of Grand Forks, ND; grandson, DJ Gunnarson; granddaughter, Kirby Gunnarson; sister, Geraldine Gilmore of Iowa Park, TX. She also leaves behind many more loved ones, family, and dear friends that will miss her contagious smile.
She was preceded in death by husbands: Van Gunnarson and Vernon Bennett; her parents Lewis and Mabel Gooselaw.
