Donald Tollefson, 86, of Edmore, ND, passed away Friday, October 5, 2018, at Maple Manor Care Center in Langdon, ND. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 13, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at the Concordia Lutheran Church in Edmore, ND.
Donald was born August 13, 1932, near Edmore, ND, to Arthur and Alvilde (Jensen) Tollefson. He attended school at Highland Center School. Donald served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean War. While stationed in Washington state, he was united in marriage to Betty Lou Larson on March 19, 1955 in Moses Lake. After being honorably discharged, Don worked for Chelan County Utility District in the engineering department in Wenatchee, WA, and later on as a field engineer for Stone & Webster Company. In 1971, they returned to Edmore and started farming the family farm. Don retired in 1983, and he and Betty moved in to Edmore. He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Johnson-Myrvik American Legion and the John R. Ogilvie VFW. Don enjoyed reading and was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan.
Surviving Don are his daughter, Dawn (Dean) Olson, of Starkweather, ND; grandchildren: Derek (Tosha) Olson and Misty Olson; great-grandchildren: Mitchel, Hunter, Lily, and Ava; great-great-granddaughter Aubrie; siblings: Duane (Mary Jane) Tollefson and Lorrayne Vogel; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty, sister and brother-in-law Joyce and Walter Hammond, and brother-in-law Bob Vogel.
