Donald Lee Dietrich

Donald Lee Deitrich, age, 69 of Crystal, ND passed away at First Care Health Center in Park River on June 15, 2012. Memorial service on Monday, June 18, 2012 at United Lutheran Church in Cavalier, ND, at 2 PM with a visitation one hour prior to service at the church. Donald was born on July 9, 1942 in Grafton, ND to John F. & Dorothy (McMillan) Dietrich. He attended & graduated from Cavalier High School in 1960. He attended Mayville State for one year before enlisting in the National Guard in the fall of 1962. He was a member of the National Guard for 6 years. He married JoAnn Horge on October 8, 1965. He farmed in the Crystal area for many years. He married Linda Myren on November 16, 2011 in Grafton, ND. He was a member of the Lodema Township Board for over 30 years, served on the ASC Board & the church council for many years. He was a member of the American Legion in Cavalier & the Red River Valley Jim Beam Club. He enjoyed the morning coffee news at the Hensel elevator, hunting & surveying the land in his pickup.In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Faith In Action. Survivors include his wife, Linda of Crystal, ND; son, Jason (Jackie) Dietrich of Grafton, ND; daughter, Josie (Allan) Gibson of Cavalier, ND; step-daughter, Lisa (Henry) Moen of Moorhead, MN; grandchildren, Carsten Dietrich, Taylor Gibson, Justin Gibson, Alexander Moen & Amelia Moen; sisters, Karen (David) Lee of Fargo, ND & Judy Dietrich of Coon Rapids, MN.He is preceded in death by his parents, John & Dorothy. Clergy: Rev. Beth Peterson & Rev. Ryan Fischer; Music: "Wonderful, Merciful Savior", "Wonderful Peace", Congregational Hymns: "How Great Thou Art" & "Amazing Grace"; organist, Bettie Lou Stegman; trio, Marlys Olson, Pam Clarksean & Darlene Watson;Honorary Pallbearers: "All of Don's family & friends.Military Rites by: Lavern J. Thompson Post #11 & Grand Forks National Honor Guard
