Dolores K. Jenson, 92, of Cavalier, ND passed away peacefully on Friday, June 6, 2014, at Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held Monday, June 9th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND.
Dolores Katherine Schulz was born August 7, 1921, at Crystal, ND to Reinholt and Catherine (Farrol) Schulz.
On October 29, 1938, she married Clifton John Jenson in Cavalier. After their marriage they lived in Neche, ND, until 1943 when they moved to Cavalier. They farmed for several years and in 1950 they started the Cavalier Gas Company, which is still in business today being run by their grandson Jay Jenson. Dolores and Cliff started spending winters in Winter Haven, FL in 1985 and they thoroughly enjoyed their time there with friends and the family visiting. Cliff passed away July 6, 1994.
She was very involved in the community, the First United Methodist Church, DeMolay, Eastern Star, MIS, and other clubs. Her love of traveling was evident having covered almost all 50 states and 14 different countries across Europe, the Middle East, and the Caribbean. Dolores became a big follower of the UND Sioux Hockey team and enjoyed going to Grand Forks to watch them play. Her family was so important to her.
Survivors include her children: Wayne Jenson, Ronald (June) Jenson, Beverly (Dean) Hinkle, all of Cavalier, ND, Richard (Cindy) Jenson, Northfield, MN, Mark (Jodi) Jenson, Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren: John (Nancy) Jenson, James (Jeanette) Jenson, Jay (Jodi) Jenson; Pam (Wayne) Clarksean, Patti (Floyd) Rollefstad, Paula (Larry) Gapp, Peggy (Brian) Devine; Kristi (Craig) Sharp; Anders Jenson and Lauren Jenson; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Arlene Julien; and brother, Sonny "Dutch" Schulz.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; and brother, Raymond.
