Diane Hotten

  Diane Marie Hotten, age 81, passed away on May 27, 2023, in Grand Forks, ND. Diane was born on June
22, 1941, in Langdon, ND. She attended St. Alphonsus High School in Langdon and later graduated from Mayville
State University.

  After graduating from Mayville State with a teaching degree, Diane secured her first teaching position at
Rock Lake Grade School where she worked a wonderful five years. While she loved her time as a teacher, it was
apparent that her true dream job was to be a full-time mother to her lovely family. After the birth of her first born,
Diane decided it was best be at home to raise her children. While she was a full-time mother, that did not mean
she did not enjoy partaking in many activities in the little free time she did have. Some of her favorite hobbies
included quilting, bird watching, and gardening. In addition to the hobbies listed above, Diane was also an active
member of the St. Alphonsus Parish in Langdon, ND. Later in life when the kids were more grown, Diane ventured
back into the working world. After successfully raising her children into respectable young adults, she found joy in
working as a Postal Carrier. She would go on to work at her new job for sixteen years before officially retiring at
the age of 48.

  Diane is survived by her husband, Ronald Hotten (Calvin), her children, Kathy Thoreson (Fargo), Tammy
Cibula (Colorado Springs, CO), Julie Strom (Bismarck), Ronnie Hotten (Litchfield, MN), and her 9 grandchildren and
3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and 9 brothers.

  A service for Diane will be held at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, 4606 Highway 1806, Mandan, ND
58554 on Friday, June 2, 2023, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, cash donations will be accepted by the family during
the service and will be gifted to the Valley Senior Living Hospice Organization of Grand Forks. If you are unable to
