Dennis E. Brown, 69, of Milton, ND passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Cavalier County Memorial Hospital in Langdon, ND.
Dennis Edward Brown was born October 2, 1946 to Harold and Delores ââ¬ÅTootsieââ¬Å¥ (Berger) Brown in Langdon, ND. He attended school and graduated from Milton High School in 1965. Dennis furthered his education at Aakerââ¬â¢s Business College. He also was a member of the National Guard from 1966 to 1972. He returned to the area and farmed with his uncle, Edward Berger, and later took over the farm. Dennis was united in marriage to Vicki (Cook) King Brown on June 29, 1972 at Milton Lutheran Church. They enjoyed traveling and visited many places including Mexico, Costa Rica, Spain, France, Denmark, Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, and Germany.
Dennis was very involved in his work and his community. He was on the ASCS board for 17 years, the Soil Conservation board for 18 years, a member of the North Dakota Stockmenââ¬â¢s Association, and both the Cavalier County Livestock Association and Crop Improvement Association. He and Vicki hosted over 30 exchange workers on their farm since 1988. He also was a member of Eagleson-Meling American Legion Post #179 in Milton, Milton Fire Department, Milton Curling Club and was on the Milton Lutheran Church Council for many years.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Vicki; sons Jamie (Chanah) King of Galveston, TX and Kyle (Cherie) Brown of Milton; and grandchildren: Samantha, Jacob, Erin, Cassidy, Carson and Kadyn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Brown and Delores ââ¬ÅTootsieââ¬Å¥ Brown Carlson; sister Linda Brown; step-father Alan Carlson; and uncles Edward and Leland Berger.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Milton Lutheran Church in Milton, ND.
Visitation will take place from 5-7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 prayer service on Monday, August 15, 2016 at Brooks Funeral Home in Langdon, ND and for one hour prior to service time at the church on Tuesday.
Inurnment will be at Milton Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Cavalier County Memorial Hospital nurses & staff, the Hospice nurses and three special caregivers: Jackie Halldorson, Leah Austfjord, and Sandy Hennager for the care and compassion they showed towards Dennis.
