Della A. Metzger

Della A. Metzger, 90, of Langdon, ND passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2016 after a brief stay at Maple Manor Care Center in Langdon, ND.

Della Ann Fischer was born February 13, 1926 to Henry and Rose (Hell) Fischer. She went to school in the Mt. Carmel area. On November 5, 1946, she married Marcus Metzger at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Mt. Carmel, ND. They farmed and raised their family near Mt. Carmel until retiring in 1981 when they moved to Langdon.

Della was a talented cook and enjoyed visiting and playing cards with her friends. Her faith, family and friends were the center of her life. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Mt. Carmel and St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Langdon and their altar societies.

Della is survived by her children: Harvey (Patty) of Langdon, Frank (LaRae) of Fargo, ND, Patricia (Joe) Bata of Adams, ND, Joyce (Chuck) Anderson of Moorhead, MN, Gary (Liela) of Langdon, and Daniel (Laurie) of Wyndmere, ND; 19 grandchildren ; 34 great-grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren;4 step-great-grandchildren; siblings: Esther Metzger, Shirley Czoschke, & Theodore (Jeanne) Fischer; and sisters-in-law Sylvia Fischer & Janet Poetz. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Marcus; daughter-in-law Judy Metzger; great-grandson Brandon Andersen; sisters: Marjorie Boehler, Mable Hoffarth and infant Mary Fischer; and brothers: Archie, Lyle, and Irie.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 5, 2016 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Langdon, ND. Visitation will take place from 5-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 4 with a 5:00 p.m. Rosary and 7:00 p.m. prayer service at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Interment – Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery, Mt. Carmel, ND.
