Deanna F. "DeeDee" Carik. 70, of Cavalier, ND died Friday, June18, 2010, at the Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at the Cavalier Presbyterian Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation on Tuesday, June 22nd from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial in the St. Bridget's Catholic Cemetery, Cavalier.
Deanna F. "DeeDee" Ault was born August 16, 1939, at Grafton, ND to Martin and Marie (Miller) Ault. She grew up in Cavalier and graduated from Cavalier High School in 1957. She worked as Deputy Clerk of Court, Pembina County and at Thompson's Cafĩ in Cavalier. DeeDee also served as Municipal Judge for the city of Cavalier. Attending grandchildren's activities, animals, reading, and being a sports enthusiast were an important part of her life.
On December 27, 1958, she married Joseph Carik at Cavalier. He survives as do her children, Jodi (Scot) Becker, Lori (Tim) Sayler, Jay (Lynette) Carik, and Bobby Carik, all of Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren, Amanda Becker; J.J. and Ashlyn Carik; David, Patrick, Christine, and Adam Sayler.
Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, Austin, Merv, and Ronnie Ault; sisters, Evelyn Horning, Bernice Bernhoft, and Eliza Leedahl.
Clergy: Rev. John Werth.
Casket Bearers: Ray Brown, J.J. Carik, Mike Restemayer, David Sayler, Patrick Sayler, and Daryl Thompson.
