Debbie L. Gendron

     Debbie Gendron, 57, of Walhalla, ND passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND surrounded by family, after her courageous battle with cancer.

     Debbie was born in Cavalier, ND, March 27, 1966, to Robert and Phyllis Diemert.  She grew up in Walhalla, ND where she attended public school.  She met Vince Gendron, and moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1984 and on September 7, 1985, they were married.  In 1986, they then moved back to Walhalla, ND, while expecting their first child.  Kayla was then born March 27, 1987, followed by their second child Amanda who was born March 15, 1990. 

     She worked at Jackson’s Bar as a bartender and then later stayed home with the kids, and helped her husband manage his Airbrush Paint Design & Glass Etching business. 

     Throughout her life, Debbie enjoyed spending time with her family, feeding/watching birds, and the bunnies.  She also enjoyed playing board games, putting together jigsaw puzzles, word searches, and kicking butt at Diddy Kong Racing. 

    She is survived by her husband, Vince, children: Kayla Gendron, Pembina, ND, Amanda (Dustyn) Lee and granddaughter Caidyn, East Grand Forks, MN, siblings: Jimmy (Etta) Diemert, Statesboro, GA, Bert (Danny) Carpenter, Walhalla, ND, Jerry (Joan) Diemert, Edinburg, ND, Sandy (Joe) Urlaub, Walhalla, ND, and Dawn (Cody) Carpenter, Pembina, ND. 

     Preceding her in death were her parents, Robert and Phyllis Diemert, and her long time pet Chance. 

     Memorial Service will be held Monday, January 8, 2024 at 11:00 am, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Walhalla, ND. Visitation for one hour before the time of services.  Followed by lunch at the church.
