David W Routson

David W. Routson, 60, of Nekoma, ND, passed away June 30, 2011 at the Cavalier County Memorial Hospital of Langdon.



David Wayne Routson was born March 28, 1951 at Des Moines, Iowa to Carol and Earl Routson. David’s father and mother divorced, then his father passed away. David’s mother then married Bill Contell. David was raised and educated in Des Moines. He worked for John Deere in Iowa. David then worked in the oil fields in Gillette, WY and became a plumber, working in Florida and Texas. After these jobs, he began work with Halliburton in Texas, doing offshore drilling.



He started his own landscaping business in Arizona, where he met and married his wife Marjorie in July 1992. They lived for a short time in Arizona, before settling in Sioux Falls in 1994. In Sioux Falls he owned and operated a painting and repair business. When Marjorie’s job was transferred to Minneapolis- they made their home there, and he continued operating his painting and repair business. The couple retired to Nekoma in October, 2008.



David is survived by his wife: Marjorie of Nekoma, children: Matthew Routson of Newman, GA and Amber (Beau) Henry of Villa Rica, GA; three grandchildren: Bryanna Henry, Alyssa Henry, and Rowan Routson; sister: Kathy (“Bo”) Bouma of Olympia, WA; brother: Michael Routson of Phoenix, AZ; nephews: Chad (Carrie) Routson, Adam (Jolene) Routson, Eric (Deana) Routson, Justin Lane, Scott (Dawn) Parker; nieces: Mandy (Lane) McCay; Teri (Bryan) Brekke, Jodi Entzminger, Jill (Patrick) Field, and Melissa (Parker) Vriner; mother-in-law: Ruby Parker; and brothers-in-law: Tom (Jayne) Parker of Langdon and Wes (Lois) Parker of Castle Rock, CO.



He was preceded in death by his mother Carol, father Earl, step-father Bill, and a brother Steven.



SERVICES will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 2:00pm at the Brooks Funeral Home, Langdon, ND. Visitation will take place for one hour before the time of the service.



INTERMENT will be at Nekoma Lutheran Cemetery, Nekoma, ND.
