David "Sonny" Goulet

November 18, 1932 — January 14, 2011

David "Sonny" L. Goulet age 78 of Walhalla passed away Friday, January 14, 2011 at Pembilier Nursing Center. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 17, 2:00 p.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Walhalla. Visitation from 6:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. with a 7:00p.m. prayer service at the church. Burial at St. Boniface Cemetery.

David Goulet was born November 18, 1932 in Concrete, ND to Paul and Mary (Vondal) Goulet. He grew up and attended school in Walhalla then joined the army in 1949, earning three medals for his three years of service in Korea. After his discharge in 1957, he returned to Walhalla and married Dorothy Compeau in Cavalier. He worked for various farmers and was known for his hard work. He enjoyed spending time with his family, singing and playing guitar, reading, working on cars, and was famous for his long walks.

His greatest battle was with cancer, though he never complained and always kept a positive outlook.

He is survived by his children; Brian (Kathy) Goulet, Casper, WY. Arlyss (Ron) Peterson, Fort Smith, AR. Dawn Goulet, Grand Forks, ND, Six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and his sister Ellen (Abe) Toews, Walhalla.

Preceded him in death were his parents, sister, Mary Dorella "Che Che" Johnson, brother, Paul L. Goulet, nephew Randy J Johnson.

Casketbearers: Duane Bennett, Erin Bennett, Brian Goulet, Brady Jerome, Jeff Jerome, James Jerome, Mark Johnson

Honorary Pallbearers: All of David's family and friends.

Soloist: Connie Eagan

Organist: Bernadine Kopf

Celebrant: Rev. Fr. Thomas Krupich

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Pembilier Nursing Center or Pembina County Hospice Care.
