Daryl Dickson

Daryl Dickson, 87, of Hannah, ND passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Cavalier County Memorial Hospital in Langdon, ND.

Goldwin Daryl Dickson was born June 30, 1928 in Wales, ND to Dim and Eva (Prior) Dickson. He attended school and graduated from Hannah in 1946. At age 17, he and his cousin, Elgin, started in the grocery business with Daryl buying Elgin out in 1947. On June 11, 1948, Daryl and June Gustafson were married at Mountain, ND. They ran the grocery store but sold it to Syl and Darylene Schneider in 1955 and then moved to Roseville, CA. In California, Daryl was produce manager at Quality Foods. They returned to Hannah to farm in 1963 and started their antique shop, Dickson’s Depot, in 1975. They retired from farming in 1993 but continued to run their antique shop in the summers and wintered in Edinburg, TX. Daryl was currently a resident at Maple Manor Care Center in Langdon.

Daryl enjoyed golfing and fishing. He and June were caretakers of the Hannah Cemetery for many years. Daryl was a Mason and a Shriner.

Daryl is survived by sister Darylene Schneider of Langdon, sister-in-law Judy Gustafson, brother-in-law Robert (Gloria) Gustafson and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife June, infant son Goldwin Daryl Dickson, Jr., and brothers-in-law Syl Schneider and Warren Gustafson.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 21, 2015 at United Lutheran Church in Langdon, ND. Visitation will be from 3-5:00 p.m. with a 5:00 p.m. Masonic Service on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND.

Interment – Hannah Cemetery, Hannah, ND
