Darwin L. Hughes

Darwin L. Hughes, 71, of Neche, ND passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 20, 2010, at his home. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Askew Funeral Home, Walhalla, ND. A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at the Neche Union Cemetery, Neche, ND.
Darwin Lou Hughes was born January 11, 1939, in Grafton, ND to Roland and Mary (Jiggins) Hughes. He spent his whole life living and working as a farmer and a skilled carpenter. Darwin also started a business for his family, manufacturing concrete ornaments in Pembina, ND. Mostly he was know for his kindness to others and will be sincerely missed by many.
On October 16, 2008, he married Janet LeTexier of Walhalla, ND. He is survived by his wife, Janet; children, Everett (Trish) Hughes, Detroit, MI, Karen (Hughes) Mornan, Omaha, NE, Aaron Hughes, St. Vincent, MN, LaDonna (Hughes) Berdini, Rosario, Argentina, and Fred (Jocelyn) Hughes, Columbus, OH, several grandchildren; stepchildren, Lori Johnson, Leroy, ND, Sandra LeTexier, South St. Paul, MN, Jeff LeTexier, Monroe, NC, Ken LeTexier and Kelly LeTexier, both of Grand Forks, ND, and Frank LeTexier, Walhalla; several step grandchildren; sisters, Nora Benson, Vesta, MN and Dorothy Mae Kneeshaw, Pembina, ND.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Fred and Charles Hughes; and sister, Coy.
