Darrell Ballweg, 74, of Langdon, ND, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 in Fargo.

Darrell was born June 8, 1939 to Clarence and Genevieve (Stamm) Ballweg in Langdon, ND. He attended school at St. Alphonsus Catholic School, graduating in 1957. Darrell went to NDSU where he was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity and received his BS in Agriculture. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1963 and was honorably discharged in 1965. Darrell married Cheryl Mukomela on August 19, 1967 in Langdon.

Darrell farmed near Nekoma, ND all his life. He also worked for Farm Credit Service as branch manager for over 20 years and sold crop and hail insurance. Darrell enjoyed farming, traveling, snow-skiing, entertaining, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a member of Eagles Aerie #3454, American Legion Post #98, Knights of Columbus, and ND Farm Bureau.

Darrell is survived by his wife Cheryl of Langdon, son Darren Ballweg of Nekoma, granddaughter Lauren Ballweg of Las Vegas, NV, brother Keith Ballweg of Langdon, sisters Gayle (Larry) Coles of Valley City, ND and Sheila (Rich) Pulju of Cold Spring, MN, step-mother Lorraine Ballweg of Langdon, step-sister Carol (Ken) Myhre of Langdon, step-brothers Dale (Becky) Mann of Grand Forks, ND and David (Toni) Mann from Bismarck, ND, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, step-brother Dennis Mann, and various family members.

Services will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Langdon, ND.

Visitation will take place on Monday, July 29, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND. Visitation will also take place for one hour prior to service time at the church on Tuesday.

Interment – Calvary Cemetery, Langdon, ND
